Kennedy Jr. focused on the significance of healthcare price transparency and how it fits in the Administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) movement.

The State of New Jersey just announced a $100 million settlement in a case regarding millions in fraudulent overcharges in their state employee health plan. As previously reported, whistleblowers came forward with "instances in which the state was paying hundreds of thousands over what was charged and one in which New Jersey paid 24 times the rate Medicare paid for the same service, far higher than the norm."

A new poll from PatientsRightsAdvocate.Org (PRA) conducted by Echelon Insights found that “American voters want to receive real prices, not estimates, for health care services before they receive care – and they are willing to reward leaders who make this a reality sooner rather than later.” 

PatientRightsAdvocate.org (PRA) released a new Interim Semi-Annual Report exposing hospitals that are leaving consumers without the fairness and financial certainty real prices provide.

Despite federal transparency rules that took effect four and a half years ago and polling showing that 9-in-10 Americans support price transparency, many hospitals have stopped publishing actual prices in dollars and cents and instead posted estimates, percents, and algorithms, which are uninterpretable by everyday consumers.

PRA submitted a comment letter to CMS in response to its proposed 2026 OPPS rule, offering specific recommendations to enhance the Hospital Price Transparency Rule to make it more useful for American healthcare consumers.

PRA led a group of tech firms and healthcare price transparency advocates to send a strong message to federal health officials: It's time to finally implement full prescription drug price transparency.
