PatientRightsAdvocate.org Submits Written Testimony to Senate HELP Committee
In a powerful written testimony submitted to the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP), PatientRightsAdvocate.org (PRA) urged the immediate passage of the bipartisan Patients Deserve Price Tags Act (S.2355).
U.S. Senators Roger Marshall and John Hickenlooper recently introduced the Patients Deserve Prices Act, which would require hospitals and insurance companies to post actual prices, not estimates, for procedures, drugs, and services. This bill would substantially reduce the cost of care and coverage through competition, choice, and accountability by revealing hidden prices throughout the healthcare system.
As a leading voice for healthcare price transparency, Cynthia Fisher, PRA Founder and Chairman, urged all senators to support the Patients Deserve Prices Act:
“PatientRightsAdvocate.org applauds Senators Marshall and Hickenlooper’s leadership on the Patients Deserve Price Tags Act, which will empower all Americans with actual prices and usher in accountability in healthcare. On behalf of America’s patients, employers, and unions, we urge all U.S. Senators to support this bill without delay to lower costs through competition and consumer choice and protect from overcharges.”
