The Fullmers

Trisha and Caleb Fullmer and their two children have endured many medical setbacks. Caleb was born with a liver condition and had two liver transplants before he was five. Their daughter Meg, who was born in 2016, inherited the same disorder.

Just two months after Meg was born their son Simon was diagnosed with cancer. The cost of care for their children over the last six years is close to $4 million dollars. Despite having insurance through Caleb’s employer, the Fullmers struggle to pay medical bills, and worry for how their children will pay for their care in the future.

“Hospital Price transparency will make a more competitive market in the healthcare industry,” said Caleb.  “A  more competitive market means lower prices, which will bring the premium and deductible prices for insurance down and allow people to keep a little more of their paycheck. And will help me to breathe.”
